Is Adam Lallana pulling his weight for Jurgen Klopp’s Reds?
The team at Liverpool fan site Empire of the Kopp certainly aren’t convinced, and have produced a damning in-depth assessment of Lallana’s contribution to the cause since moving to Anfield from Southampton in 2014.
When the England international moved to Merseyside from St. Mary’s Stadium last year, he was part of the Premier League Team of the Year, and had bagged double figures for the Saints.
Since then, however, Lallana has occasionally shone—as explored by EOTK editor Jordan Chamberlain using some in-depth statistical analysis—but has too often disappeared from view when the pressure’s been on and when the Reds have demanded some inspiration.
Considering Liverpool parted with £25 million to bring the playmaker to Anfield, it’s fair that Lallana hasn’t realised his potential.
Will Klopp be able to reinvigorate the player and get the most out of him, or will the 27-year-old be destined to join the long list of Anfield stars who never quite realised their potential.
