Manchester United must move NOW to nab Mourinho, as Real Madrid circle

If Manchester United are keen to sign Jose Mourinho as Louis van Gaal‘s successor, they must move immediately.

Speculation is intensifying that the Portuguese coach is wanted at Real Madrid, with Florentino Perez also seeing the axed Chelsea coach as a solution to his problems at the Bernabeu.

Mourinho was dismissed from Stamford Bridge earlier in the month, having overseen a miserable start to the Blues’ title defence.

While his fall from grace—from Premier League champions to the unemployment line—has been marked, the manager has no shortage of suitors.

He has readily been tipped as a replacement for under-pressure Louis van Gaal—who is overseeing a miserable winless run at Old Trafford—while the Mirror note that Perez is desperate to install the Lusophone manager as a replacement for Rafael Benitez, whose Real side currently sit third in the Spanish top flight.

The Merengues’ mooted interest in the manager may well prompt United to act, and the Red Devils—pressured by the knowledge of another option for the Special One—could be tempted to act quickly and pull the trigger on LVG.

Will a poor result against Chelsea on Monday seal his fate?
