The Croatian Messi: Chelsea to pip Real Madrid to £8m wonderkid

Chelsea are in pole position to secure the future of Ante Coric, who has been linked with a move to Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain.

The wonderkid midfielder has been scouted intently by the Pensioners according to AS [via the Telegraph], with the Spanish source noting that the Blues are hoping to see off the considerable competition to sign the player in 2016.

The source report that the player—who has also been targeted by Real Madrid and Manchester City [as per Goal]—will command a fee of £8 million.

The youngster, who is nicknamed the ‘Croatian Messi’, made his debut for Croatian side RNK Split in the Spring of 2014 before becoming the youngest-ever scorer in the Europa League when he found the net against Romanian side Astra Giurgiu when he was only 17 and a half.

Local source Jutarnji List [as per Le 10 Sport], have identified Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich, FC Porto and Juventus as further parties who are all understood to be keen on the talented teen, with the French source reporting that the player has a release clause of €15 million.
