Liverpool offer Juventus defender Martin Caceres summer contract

Liverpool have apparently made a formal offer of a contract to Juventus centre-back Martin Caceres to join the club at the end of the season, according to Spanish publication Don Balon.

The Reds are set to be active during the next two transfer windows as manager Jurgen Klopp looks to put his own stamp on the squad he inherited from Brendan Rodgers earlier in the year.

The 28-year-old is out of contract at the end of the season, and Liverpool have put an offer in place to bring him to Anfield over the summer.

A Uruguayan international, Caceres won the Champions League with Barcelona before leaving the club to join Juve, where he has played a part in their past three Scudetto’s, albeit a small part.

However, the Don Balon report also claims that Liverpool face competition from both Inter Milan and Fenerbahce for his signature.
