Man United and Chelsea battling for English-learning Italian boss

Both Manchester United and Chelsea are believed to be in a tug-of-war over Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri after discovering that he has been learning English, according to The Sun.

The 48-year-old led Juventus to the Italian title last season, but with just 18 months remaining on his current deal in Turin, the two Premier League sides have been keeping tabs on his situation and are ready to pounce for his signature.

Chelsea are on the lookout for a long-term replacement for Jose Mourinho, and despite hiring Guus Hiddink in the interim, it’s not likely that he will hold the post beyond the end of the current campaign.

The Sun claims that Chelsea also see Allegri as key to the signature of Juve midfielder Paul Pogba, who they have also been after for some time.

Meanwhile, Manchester United are growing increasingly frustrated with Louis van Gaal, who hasn’t won a game in his previous seven now, and only put a halt to three straight defeats with a goalless draw against the Blues earlier this week.
