Arsenal handed January transfer boost as Serie A giants willing to sell

Arsenal have received a transfer boost as Inter are reportedly ready to sell Marcelo Brozovic in order to sign their targets in January.

The Croatian international has been linked with a move to the Emirates in recent weeks, and it appears as though he may well be heading for the Premier League sooner rather than later, according to La Repubblica.

The Nerazzurri need to balance the books this January if they are to strengthen their squad, as Roberto Mancini’s side look to sustain their Scudetto push having finished top of the Serie A table over the winter break.

It is reported that the Italian giants wish to sign Paris Saint-Germain forward Ezequiel Lavezzi, but in order to cover his transfer fee and wages, they will have to sell.

As a result, speculation has suggested that Arsene Wenger is willing to spend €25m on Brozovic, and the talented youngster may well be sacrificed in order for other moves to take place.

The former Dinamo Zagreb star struggled to adjust and adapt to life in Italy initially, but there have been signs in recent times that he is maturing into a quality midfielder as he has scored two goals in 12 league appearances this season.

With Arsenal looking to bolster their options in that area of the pitch following injuries suffered by Santi Cazorla and Francis Coquelin, it appears as though the deal may well make sense for all parties to push the transfer through as soon as possible.
