Chelsea have been left reeling with the news that flop striker Radamel Falcao’s injury could cost them an astounding £3.3million, according to the Daily Mirror.

The Colombian international reportedly picked up an injury during a training game recently, and not only has that put him out of action for the Blues, it also means that it has put a halt to any possibility of an early exit to another club.

Chelsea had been willing to allow the 29-year-old head back to parent club Monaco early this month, or even help pave the way for him to move on loan elsewhere, but the injury will now likely mean that he will be forced to remain at Stamford Bridge until the end of the current campaign.

But what will stick most is that his £140,000 weekly wages that the club are paying him, and should he stay in west London until May, the deal will hit owner Roman Abramovic in the pocket to the tune of £3.3m.
