Man United mega target expected to leave Real Madrid

The hiring of Zinedine Zidane as Real Madrid manager has several high-profile players ready to jump ship. Unfortunately for Los Blancos, Cristiano Ronaldo has just moved to the front of the line of players running to the door – an unexpected boon for Manchester United.

According to the Daily Telegraph, Ronaldo is expected to seal a transfer out of Real Madrid at the end of the season – putting Man United and Paris Saint-Germain on high alert for the multiple-time Ballon d’Or winner.

A Real Madrid source told the Telegraph that between Ronaldo and fellow-angry teammate Gareth Bale, Ronaldo is the more likely candidate to be allowed to transfer.

‘Out of Bale and Ronaldo, Ronaldo is the player expected to leave the club,’ the unnamed source reportedly said.

‘Bale is still seen as the future, whereas Ronaldo’s best years may now be behind him.

‘PSG are desperate to sign him and would be favourites at the moment, but United will no doubt try.’

Though Ronaldo is currently dominating the Champions League, scoring 11 goals in the group stage alone, his La Liga form has been off due in part to a lingering injury. He has 14 goals and five assists through 18 La Liga matches – but was completely erased from El Clasico during a 4-0 loss to Barcelona.
