Adnan Januzaj: Louis van Gaal admits mistake by recalling Belgian from Dortmund loan

Manchester United have confirmed that Adnan Januzaj has been recalled from his loan spell at Borussia Dortmund and will spend the rest of the season at Old Trafford.

Louis van Gaal surprisingly allowed the 20-year-old to leave in the summer window, shortly after he scored the winning goal against Aston Villa in the Premier League.

But Januzaj did not make a single Bundesliga start for Dortmund, making six substitute appearances and a further half a dozen in the Europa League with scoring.

The Red Devils have confirmed, via their official Twitter account, that they have requested the Belgian’s return to Manchester because of a lack of game time in Germany.

While Januzaj has been sitting on the sidelines, United have been desperately short of attacking creativity and inspiration in their stuttering Premier League campaign.

The youngster, who shot onto the scene with a series of eye-catching performances under David Moyes in the 2013-14 season, may now be given a chance to make a difference.

Januzaj already has 60 United appearances to his name, including 24 starts in the Premier League, and has scored five goals for the club. His contract runs until 2018.
