MLS giants set to rival EPL title contenders for ex-Man City MONSTER

Leicester City will have to see off competition from LA Galaxy in order to sign Netherlands international Nigel de Jong.

The Major League Soccer side have confirmed their interest in signing the AC Milan midfielder on their official page.

According to the club website, the 31-year-old is tempted by the prospect of ending his four-year stay with the Lombardy giants and moving to MLS.

It’s been a tricky campaign so far for de Jong, who’s managed only six appearances in all competitions for the Rossoneri this term.

However, his inactivity hasn’t dissuaded Premier League high-flyers Leicester City from taking an interest, with the Foxes understood to be tempted by the ex-Manchester City and Ajax man’s experience [Mirror].

While de Jong may struggle to break into the Foxes’ starting XI ahead of the likes of Danny Drinkwater, N’golo Kante and Gokhan Inler, he would be an excellent option in the case of injury, and could just have the nous to see title-hunting Leicester over the line!

The Mirror note that Claudio Ranieri would be willing to offer £2 million up front to sign the player, and would increase their offer to £3 million should the Dutch international help them achieve their top-four aspirations.
