Liverpool boss targets unknown Champions League defender to solve injury crisis

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is said to be eyeing Ludogorets defender Georgi Terziev as the ideal candidate to plug the holes in his injury ravaged defence this month, according to Italian publication Tuttomercatoweb.

The report claims that the 23-year-old would offer the Reds boss a cheap, short-term solution to tie them over until the end of the season.

A Bulgarian international with five caps to his name will already be known to Liverpool fans as he was part of the Ludogorets side that took the Reds on during last season’s Champions League group stage.

But not only that, he also belongs to the same management company that handled midfielder Marko Grujic’s recent move to Anfield from Red Star Belgrade, meaning a potential deal could be enhanced by the relationships fostered during that time.

The current injury crisis at the club has meant that Klopp will be delving into the transfer market for cover, but is having to move earlier than anticipated, but with games coming up against both Arsenal and Manchester United, they will need to do everything they can to ensure they’re at full power.
