Manchester United compile £400m transfer wishlist to rebuild attack

Manchester United have reportedly put together a shortlist of forwards that they believe will help them solve their problems up front.

According to The Sun, the Red Devils are targeting Neymar, Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale, Harry Kane and Thomas Muller over the next few months in a bid to end their goalscoring woes that they have suffered with under Louis van Gaal this season.

Although it is highly unlikely that they will sign all five players, it is believed that they would have to splash out over £400m in total in order to get their desired targets.

While it is claimed that Neymar will be their priority, both Ronaldo and Bale would cost over £100m together, and it would take a significant offer to prise Kane away from White Hart Lane too.

It remains to be seen who moves to Old Trafford during the January transfer window, and whether or not the club continue with Van Gaal beyond this season.

After making a solid start to the campaign, the Dutchman has lost his way after a disastrous December saw them go without a win in eight games in all competitions.

While they appear to have turned the corner in their last two outings, Van Gaal will be desperate for his side to continue to improve as they look to close the gap on their Premier League title rivals in the coming weeks as well as move back into the top four to secure Champions League football next season.

Nevertheless, this isn’t the first time that the English giants have been linked with many of the top names from around Europe, and so it is more than likely that they will be active in the current transfer window as well as in the summer with perhaps at least one of the primary targets making the switch.
