Ex-Arsenal & Chelsea superstar on the brink of LA Galaxy switch

Former Chelsea and Arsenal defender Ashley Cole is on the brink of completing a move to Major League Soccer outfit LA Galaxy, according to reports.

The ex-England defender, who was one of the finest players of his generation, has endured a torrid spell at AS Roma, and looks set to curtail his miserable stint in the Italian capital with a transfer to MLS.

Eurosport have quoted one journalist insisting that the move has already been completed, but as yet, there has been no official confirmation of the player’s switch, which would see him reunited with ex-England teammate and former Premier League rival Steven Gerrard.

The 35-year-old won two Premier League titles with Arsenal as well as three FA Cups before his controversial switch to Chelsea in 2006.

Here, he won the EPL crown only once—in 2010—but also lifted the FA Cup on four occasions, as well as the Champions League in 2012 and the Europa League a year later.
