Real Madrid plot double transfer swoop with £250m war chest; Zidane wants Barcelona target

Zinedine Zidane is understood to have identified Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba as the key man to return Real Madrid to their former glory and has been handed a £250 million war chest by Florentino Perez to go out and get the Galacticos he needs, according to The Sun.

Zidane replaced Rafael Benitez as Real manager earlier this week, and according to The Sun, the newly installed Merengues coach already knows the two players he wants to recruit.

One name which should come as no surprise is Eden Hazard, with The Sun reporting that Zizou is prepared to go all out to sign the Chelsea playmaker—who is valued at £100 million by his club, according to the tabloid.

The French legend has already revealed—speaking to Fifa.com in an interview in April 2015—that he is a big admirer of the talented playmaker, although it remains to be seen if Los Blancos can see off interest from the likes of Manchester United [Daily Star], Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich [both Daily Mail] to sign the exquisite attacking midfielder.

It won’t be any easier to sign Zidane’s other target Pogba, although The Sun note that the Merengues could be prepared to “break the £100 million barrier” in order to guarantee the future of the Juventus powerhouse.

The French international has had no shortage of suitors either since blossoming into a truly world-class operator in Turin.

As noted by The Sun, Barcelona are also keen on the midfielder, having come close to his signature last summer, while Manchester City failed to recruit the player after offering Juve an eye-watering £72 million.

The tabloid also acknowledge that Chelsea attempted to recruit the box-to-box star last summer, but were also rebuffed by the reigning Italian champions.

Pogba continues to establish himself as one of the finest midfielders in the game, having contributed three goals and three assists in 17 Serie A showings so far this term.
