Arda Turan grabbed his first assist for Barcelona in just his second game for the club, as Argentine maestro Lionel Messi put the Catalan side 1-0 ahead against Granada after just seven minutes.
Barcelona had dominated the opening exchanges and were unlucky not to already have their noses ahead, with Luis Suarez and Jordi Alba both going close.
The goal saw some wonderful link-up play between Suarez, Turan, and Messi. The Uruguayan’s dummy allowed Turan to surge into the box, and his accurate pass only needed the merest touch from Messi to end up in the net.
Barca have already doubled their advantage – with Messi scoring his second of the game in the 14th minute.
Luis Enrique’s men went into the game in second place in the La Liga table and two points behind leaders Atletico Madrid, so a win here would move them into top spot – at least temporarily.
Atletico Madrid travel to Celta Vigo tomorrow lunchtime.
