Lionel Messi has a well-documented history of questionable wardrobe choices for the Ballon d’Or gala – most famously his red suit back in 2013. However, this year the Barcelona scoring machine could very well take fashion disasters to a whole new level with his anticipated suit design for the 2016 gala.
The Home of Barcelona twitter page uncovered images of a suit that could very well be the one Messi decides to wear on Monday night – when he presumably accepts the FIFA Ballon d’Or for a record-setting fifth time. Shielding ones eyes is advisable:

Messi is considered the frontrunner to win the prestigious award after scoring more than 50 goals in the 2015 calendar year en route to five trophies: La Liga, Copa Del Ray, Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup titles.
Should he win, Messi would beat out his long-time rival Cristiano Ronaldo and his teammate Neymar.
Ronaldo won the award in each of the last two seasons.
