EPL side plotting to nip in ahead of Barcelona, Arsenal to sign £20m wideman; agent jets in to England

Everton are nearing a deal to sign winger Andriy Yarmolenko, whose agent has flown to England to complete a deal.

The international attacker, who was heavily linked to both Arsenal and Barcelona during the summer, is understood to be keen on a switch to Everton.

According to the Liverpool Echo, the Toffees’ fears that the move may be dead are ill founded, with the potential transfer of the international wideman still a possibility during the January transfer window.

The report states that some of Yarmolenko’s representatives were at Goodison Park on Wednesday evening as the Blues defeated Manchester City in their Capital One Cup semi-final first leg, with negotiations on going concerning the player’s future.

Roberto Martinez is understood to have failed with a move to sign the player during the summer, and ultimately moved to bring Tottenham Hotspur winger Aaron Lennon back to the club following his successful loan stint last term.

The report concludes by stating that it would cost Everton at least £20 million to bring Yarmolenko to Goodison Park, but that Martinez is keen to get the deal done before other interested parties increase their efforts to sign him in the summer.
