Though Arsenal have not been lacking for goals thanks to the stellar duo of Olivier Giroud and Mesut Ozil, the Gunners still need a second forward for the sake of their depth. Injuries to Alexis Sanchez, Theo Walcott and Danny Welbeck increase the need for Arsenal to get reinforcements quickly, and Celta Vigo forward Nolito could be just the man they need.
According to the Metro, Arsenal are prepared to pay £13.4 million for the 29-year-old Spanish forward/winger. Per Mundo Deportivo, the Gunners are more willing to pay Nolito’s release clause than La Liga giants Barcelona.
Nolito has scored double-digit goals in each of the last two seasons with Celta, and was named La Liga Player of the Month for September 2014 and September 2015. He played a few years for Barcelona B and later Barcelona earlier in his career.
In his career, Nolito has 94 goals in 312 appearances. He also won the Taca de Liga with Benfica in the 2011-12 season.
