Arsenal and Barcelona are just two sides understood to be keeping tabs on FC Pacos Ferreira midfielder Diogo Jota.

According to a tweet shared by the Daily Star, purported to be from the Liga NOS match between Pacos and Vitoria Setubal in Portugal on Tuesday, the two heavyweights were among 13 clubs who had sent representatives to the game, with the tabloid understanding they they’d come to monitor the progress of the 19-year-old starlet.

Portuguese site A Bola previously credited Barcelona with an interest in the Portuguese midfielder in September.

As well as Arsenal and Barca, domestic giants FC Porto, Italian side Atalanta, Premier League pair Aston Villa and West Ham United and Bundesliga outfit FC Koln were some of the other notable names understood to be keeping tabs on Jota.

The tabloid note that the Gunners are keen on bolstering their midfield options ahead of a title tilt in the second half of the season, and see the tweet as evidence that Arsene Wenger is eyeing Jota as a potential January solution for his side.

As well as the aforementioned sides, the Star credit Benfica with interest in the player, with the club understood to have already opened talks with Pacos.

The midfielder has four goals in 17 games to date for the Portuguese side.
