Liverpool and Manchester United have joined Italian giants AC Milan in a three-way race to sign highly-rated Ajax youngster Anwar El Ghazi, according to the Daily Star.
The three giants have been alerted to his ability after his early season saw him clock up eight goals so far.
And with that in mind, The Star claims that Milan will open the bidding with an £8million offer, though Reds boss Jurgen Klopp may have something to say about that as he too is a big fan of the player.
Louis van Gaal has hinted that he could be ready to bring in a number of new faces over this coming days, but the two-cap Netherlands international is still under contract until 2019, and won’t come cheap.
“I said on September 1 that I think we have a better balance in our selection,” van Gaal said in November.
“And I suspected we would do better than last year.
“But still I need more balance in my selection and I have already said that we need fast wingers to get us to where we have to be.”
