Mohamed Elneny: Nerdy £5m Arsenal new boy reveals that he’s done his Gunners homework

Mohamed Elneny has revealed that he studied Arsenal inside and out ahead of his move to the Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners made their first signing of the January transfer window earlier this week when they brought £5 million FC Basel midfielder Elneny to the club.

The midfielder completed his move on Thursday, and is in contention to feature for the north London heavyweights in their Premier League bout against Stoke City on Sunday.

Elneny’s arrival could go someway to solving the Emirates Stadium giants’ deficiencies in the heart of the park, notable since an injury suffered by Francis Coquelin, and the three-time Swiss champion could be just the catalyst the Gunners need to end their long wait for an English title.

The player himself is certainly excited about the move and—revealing the inner teacher’s pet—has acknowledged that he’s done his homework on the club.

“It is one the biggest clubs in the world, I know everything about it and its players,” the North African gushed, as per the Mirror.

“It is an indescribable feeling, I am really glad of course. Arsenal is one of the world’s greatest teams, and I am very keen to participate positively with my new team, God willing, and to give my best for the team and for myself.”
