EPL side make whopping £25m bid for Arsenal, Tottenham, Chelsea transfer target

Ambitious Newcastle United refuse to be deterred in their hunt for Alexandre Lacazette and have made a new £25 million offer for the frontman.

The striker recently confirmed that he wouldn’t be leaving current club Olympique Lyonnais during the January transfer window, and instead was only considering his future from the summer.

However, the big-spending Magpies refuse to take no for an answer and, according to the Mirror, have improved on their earlier £18 million bid with a £25 million offer for the player.

Steve McClaren, who has overseen something of a revival at St. James’ Park in recent weeks, appears to be intending to add Lacazette’s name to those of recent new additions Jonjo Shelvey and Henri Saivet.

However, it remains to be seen whether the north-east giants’ latest big-money bid will be enough to tempt OL into selling and Lacazette into reconsidering his position.

Similarly, should Lyon demonstrate that they are willing to sell the France international at the right price, Newcastle may face competition from the player’s other prospective suitors, with Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal and Chelsea all recently linked to his signature [Express].
