Bundesliga giants Borussia Monchengladbach have apparently given Arsenal the green light to make a move for midfielder Granit Xhaka after hinting that he would be allowed to move on if they receive the right fee, the Daily Mirror reports.

The Gunners have been alerted to the 23-year-old this season thanks to a series of strong performances both in the league and in the Champions League, and have been keeping tabs on the Swiss international for several months now.

‘Gladbach Sporting Director Max Eberl told German radio station WDR 2: “It depends a bit on our own sporting success, it depends on Granit’s own performances and of course it depends on the figures.

“If they reach a certain level, then you could start to get dizzy. There are always situations in which every club would have to make considerations.”

However, Arsenal won’t want to pay through the nose for his services, especially given they’ve just signed Mohamed Elneny from Xhaka’s former club, FC Basel.
