Guillem Balague gives transfer update on Chelsea, Man United, Man City & Arsenal targets

Guillem Balague has given Premier League suitors a boost in their pursuits of Isco and James Rodriguez by revealing that the Real Madrid pair may soon be available.

Chelsea and Manchester United have been tipped to make a move for Colombian international James, who was said to be unhappy under Rafael Benitez but now has Zinedine Zidane as his manager.

Isco has long been on the fringes of things at the Bernabeu and has been linked with Manchester City and Arsenal, but Balague claims that Zidane is a fan of the Spanish midfielder.

The respected journalist can envisage a situation where one of the two playmakers leaves Madrid in the summer, but has ruled out either of them leaving in the January transfer window.

Ballague told Sky Sports: “Zidane likes Isco, but I don’t think he has enough to be a consistent Real Madrid player. It could well be that either he or James Rodriguez gets sold in the summer.

“But again, Real are waiting to see what happens with the transfer ban. I can 100 per cent say that he is not going to move in January. One-hundred per cent no way.”

Who is more likely to be sold probably depends on Zidane’s judgement if he remains in charge of Madrid come the summer, but Isco currently seems the most disposable.

Chelsea and Man United would be wise to compete with their English rivals for the 23-year-old, who has the potential to have a similar impact as Mesut Ozil upon arriving from Real.
