Mario Balotelli set for Premier League return…but not with Liverpool

Mario Balotelli could be handed a Premier League reprieve as West Ham United line up a loan bid for the forgotten Liverpool man, the Brentwood Gazette reports.

The 25-year-old has been on loan back at former club AC Milan this season, but has struggled for game time due to a persistent hamstring problem, and has managed just one goal in four Serie A appearances so far.

However, the local press believes the Hammers aren’t perturbed by his injury worries, and will line up their own loan move for the Italian international.

It is reported that manager Slaven Bilic may allow back up striker Nikica Jelavic to join Chinese giants Guangzhou Evergrande in a bid to free up funds to bring Balotelli on board.

Despite being looked upon as one of the world’s most mercurial talents, Balotelli’s career has hit the bumpers recently, as his first spell at Anfield garnered only one Premier League goal in 16 appearances.
