Manchester United star Adnan Januzaj stole the show for the Under-21s side in their 4-0 win over Southampton U21s on Monday night.
After failing to make an impact during his loan spell with Dortmund, the Belgian international returned to Old Trafford earlier this month in a bid to impress Louis van Gaal and get back into the United team.
On the basis of Monday night’s performance, it appears as though he has the right attitude as he bagged two goals in an all-round impressive display.
Will Keane also scored twice to make it five goals in his last two appearances, and with the senior side struggling for goals, it remains to be seen how long it is before Van Gaal gives the youngster an opportunity alongside the likes of Wayne Rooney.
Nevertheless, it will likely be Januzaj who gets the call first, and the 20-year-old will be desperate to prove himself in the Premier League again and take steps in the right direction in terms of becoming a pivotal player for the club.
United remain in fifth place in the Premier League table, and currently trail leaders Arsenal by seven points as they closed the gap following their win over Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday, coupled with the Gunners being held to a goalless draw at Stoke City.
