Agent of Man City star reveals transfer plans as Citizens eye Jamie Vardy as replacement

The agent of Manchester City forward Wilfried Bony has dismissed the suggestion that his client will be leaving the Etihad Stadium in January.

However, the player representative has acknowledged that the Ivorian striker isn’t completely happy with his lot at Eastlands and will make his position clear in the summer.

The comments from Francis Kacou come in light of transfer rumours linking the Ivorian hitman—who’s never truly looked the part since moving from Swansea City in early January—away from the club. Indeed, the attacker’s former employers are just one club understood to be keen on the forward’s services, and recent reports have suggested that Manuel Pellegrini is considering a move for Leicester City’s Jamie Vardy as a potential upgrade on Bony.

City delivered one of their best offensive performances of the season at the weekend when Crystal Palace were dispatched 4-0, in a match that saw Sergio Aguero and Kelechi Iheanacho used in tandem in attack.

“Wilfried Bony will stay at Manchester City. Everything else is just rumours,” Kacou told Foot Mercato, as per The Sun.

“A departure this winter was never on the cards. Manchester City have quite simply no intention of selling.

“He has often been injured since he arrived at the club, but he has still scored eight goals this season.

“We will see what happens next. This summer, the player and I, will make our position clear.”

The attacker has managed just nine starts in the EPL so far this season, and his four-goal haul—coupled with the emergence of wonderkid Iheanacho—threaten to make him surplus to requirements.
