Chelsea fear transfer exodus as four players linked to the exit door

According to reports, Chelsea might have a fight on their hands to keep hold of four members of their first-team squad this summer.

The Blues—England’s reigning champions—are enduring a miserable campaign in the Premier League, and while they scraped a draw against Everton this weekend, they remain mired in the bottom half of the table.

Indeed, at the time of writing, the Stamford Bridge heavyweights find themselves 14th in the log, only four points clear of the relegation zone and Newcastle United in 18th.

The Pensioners sit a whopping 14 points off Tottenham Hotspur in fourth and the Champions League places, and it is becoming increasingly difficult to see how the west Londoners will guarantee qualification for Europe’s top table next season…at least not via their league finish.

According to The Sun, a combination of the prospect of missing out on a return to the European Cup and the ongoing uncertainty around the managerial position—it remains to be seen who will replace Guus Hiddink at the season’s end—has created a climate of uncertainty at Stamford Bridge.

The tabloid have reported that the club are concerned about the futures of four players, with Diego Costa, Eden Hazard, Oscar and Thibaut Courtois all likely to be eyed by major suitors—and potentially considering potential summer exits—should the Blues fail to secure a return to the Champions League.
