Ex-Chelsea defender would love to see Diego Costa transfer to Euro giants

Paris Saint-Germain defender David Luiz has admitted that he’d love for Diego Costa to leave Chelsea and move to the Parc des Princes.

PSG are currently 21 points at the top of the Ligue 1 table, and it would take something remarkable for them not to claim the French title this season. However, one of the capital club’s stars is still looking for the domestic behemoths to go to the next level by targeting new signings.

Indeed, David Luiz has cast his eyes back to his former club Chelsea, and has name-checked Costa as the kind of quality addition who would fit in at PSG.

“Diego is one of the most clinical strikers in Europe, he would be a welcome addition to any team,” the Brazil defender began, as per the Mirror.

“I think PSG have made their intent clear over the last three or four seasons, that we only add the best player,” the former Blues stopper continued.

“If Diego decides he has had enough of England and wants a new challenge, of course he would be welcome here.

“Diego and myself have had our clashes on the field, but you must understand there are two Diego’s,” the 28-year-old continued.

“On the field he is physical, he is confrontational, he will get in your face, that is part of his game.

“Off the field he is a good friend, one of the nicest guys you can meet, somebody I would go to dinner with.”

Costa endured a slow start to the season, where he largely failed to recreate the fine form of his superb maiden campaign in the Premier League.

However, since the departure of Jose Mourinho, he has begun to come good under the guidance of interim coach Guus Huddink.

The Spanish forward has bagged five goals and contributed two assists in his last five matches and, if he continues in this vein, the Blues should be able to pull away from the relegation zone.
