Chelsea set to hand shock debut to midfield starlet vs Arsenal

Chelsea boss Guus Hiddink is set to give young midfielder Charly Musonda a role to play in this weekend’s clash with Arsenal after he impressed with a series of strong performances with the under-21s, the Daily Mail reports.

The Belgian starlet is yet to make his first team debut in the Premier League, and after watching him in the reserves, Hiddink feels the 19-year-old is ready to make the step up and play with the seniors.

Musonda bagged a stunning free kick in this week’s 5-0 rout over west London neighbours QPR, and Hiddink and owner Roman Abramovic, who was also in attendance, were greatly taken with what they saw.

He has been frustrated with his lack of first team opportunities so far, and had even stated a desire to leave the club on loan to gain experience elsewhere, thus seeing his name linked with moves to the likes of Arsenal and Manchester united.

But Hiddink feels that he has a big future at the club, and is prepared to allow him the opportunity to prove it, starting this weekend against the Gunners.
