Liverpool plotting transfer raid for Manchester United reject & elite 22-goal poacher

According to reports in Italy, Liverpool are primed to bring Javier Hernandez back to the Premier League.

The Mexican forward was deemed surplus to requirements by Louis van Gaal since the Dutch coach replaced David Moyes (and Ryan Giggs) as Manchester United coach.

The forward was loaned out to Real Madrid last season, and was sold to Bayer Leverkusen at the beginning of the 2015-16 season, despite comments made by LVG during the summer in which he intimated that the poacher was part of his plans.

Hernandez has shone since leaving United for the Bundesliga, and has struck 22 goals in 21 games for both club and country so far this term.

Liverpool, by contrast, have struggled for goals, and Daniel Sturridge has been tipped for a move away from the club—West Ham United are understood to be keen on his services—while it remains to be seen whether Christian Benteke remains part of the manager’s plans.

According to Calciomercato, Liverpool are targeting Chicharito as a potential solution to their offensive deficiencies, and are planning to make a move for the Central American striker during the summer.
