Chelsea join transfer race for 13-goal Nigerian striker eyed by Arsenal

According to reports, Chelsea are keeping tabs on Nigeria international Odion Ighalo and are considering a move for the Watford forward.

However, as per the Mirror, the Blues are considering a summer move, with no word that the Pensioners are planning to bring the hitman to Stamford Bridge during the summer.

The 26-year-old fired the Hornets to the Premier League after an outstanding campaign in the Championship last season, and has taken to the top flight like a duck to water.

The West African has hit 13 goals in 23 appearances so far this term, helping Watford steer clear of relegation and nestle in mid-table—a fine return for the newly promoted side.

Indeed, with 30 goals in 2015, Ighalo has begun to catch the eye of some of the Premier League’s bigger sides. The tabloid identify Chelsea as “one of several clubs” linked with a move for the former Granada man.

The Mirror [as above] note that Atletico Madrid and AS Roma have also been eyeing the forward, while a Mirror article earlier in the month reported that Arsenal have also been keeping tabs on the attacker, with Arsene Wenger having added the forward to his transfer hit-list.
