The stress of life at Manchester United is understood to be pushing Louis van Gaal towards the exit door at Old Trafford.

According to the Mirror, the Dutch coach is considering breaking his contract and walking out on United a year before his contract comes to an end.

Despite something of a resurgence in recent weeks, there is an unmistakable sense that LVG is limping towards the exit door at Old Trafford.

The Dutch coach has wholly failed to convince at United, and undermined by a poor style of play, strange transfer dealings and bizarre interactions with the media, has come under increasing pressure.

According to sources in Holland—via the Mirror—the legendary manager’s family are concerned about the coach’s health in light of the strain on the coach, and are urging him to prematurely leave his post.

His exit could pave the way for axed Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho to take over at Old Trafford, with the tabloid speculating that the ex-Blues chief will land the job in the summer.
