Son Heung-Min goal video v Leicester: Thunderous strike shows Tottenham can cope without Kane

Harry Kane who? Kidding, but Son Heung-Min has proven tonight that Tottenham Hotspur can cope without their homegrown hero, with a thunderous strike in their FA Cup replay against Leicester City.

The South Korean was Tottenham’s bright spark in quite a dull first half which eventually came to life in the 39th minute, as Son produced this shift and shoot which flew into the top corner.

Son created himself a yard of space under the watch of Leicester’s highly-rated teenage left-back Ben Chilwell, and caught Kasper Schmeichel off guard with an unstoppable strike.

The summer signing from Bayer Leverkusen has been asked to play through the middle by Mauricio Pochettino, affording Kane, who has started all of Tottenham’s 22 Premier League games, a rest.

The England international is Tottenham’s only recognised centre forward and the Londoners have been heavily tipped to enter the market this January to provide him with support, Sky Sports reports.

Son is showing that he is capable of deputising in the meantime with his fifth goal since joining from Bayer Leverkusen, which could book Spurs a fourth-round tie away at Colchester City.
