Alex Teixeira reportedly suffers hamstring injury hours after Liverpool make bid

Liverpool have possibly been hit with a huge blow to their transfer plans as Brazilian forward Alex Teixeira has allegedly suffered a hamstring injury just hours after Liverpool made an approach for his signature, the Daily Telegraph reports.

It had emerged this morning that the Reds had hijacked Chelsea’s interest in the player, with certain reports claiming that a deal was virtually done to bring him to England.

Teixeira’s current club Shakhtar Donetsk are currently attending a warm weather training camp in Florida, where Liverpool officials are believed to have travelled for talks, and it is claimed that the player suffered the problem during a training session.

The story was initially broke by the editor-in-chief of Sport-Express.ru, Artur Petrsyan, though there is still no official confirmation from the club.
