Struggling Man City ace denies he is close to leaving the club

Manchester City striker Wilfried Bony has confirmed that he is not intending to leave the club anytime soon, the Daily Star reports.

The Ivorian has only managed to find the net on four occasions in nine appearances so far this term, but is well aware that he will always play second fiddle to star man Sergio Aguero.

He has been frustrated with his lack of regular first team football, and was recently linked with a return to Swansea, whom he signed from for £28million this time last year.

However, he has distanced himself from the rumours linking him with a move away from the club by stating his intent to remain at the Etihad.

“I’m happy at the club, all this speculation is not true,” he said.

“I have a contract so I’m happy and I think I’m at one of the top clubs in the United Kingdom.

“I have no regrets about joining Manchester City.

“We play in the Champions League and we’re one of the top clubs in the world. I’m happy here and I can just say I’m blessed.”
