International midfielder becomes latest player linked to Chelsea exit door

The Sun have identified Nemanja Matic as the latest Chelsea player to be considering his future at Stamford Bridge.

The tabloid reported earlier this week that the club were concerned that a whole host of big-name players were considering their futures at Stamford Bridge amidst the increasingly likely failure to qualify for the Champions League next season, the sustained run of poor results and the ongoing uncertainty over the managerial position.

According to The Sun, the Blues were anticipating a battle to keep hold of high-profile figures such as Oscar, Thibaut Courtois, Eden Hazard and Diego Costa.

Latterly, The Sun [as above] have added midfielder Matic to the list of players whose futures are the club are increasingly uncertain.

The tabloid note that the 27-year-old—who has been singled out for criticism following a series of underwhelming showings—is deliberating whether he needs to change clubs in order to revive his flagging career.

The Serbian international shone last season as the Blues lifted the Premier League title, but following the re-emergence of John Obi Mikel since Guus Hiddink replaced Jose Mourinho in December, the Eastern European midfielder has seen his influence diminish.

Matic has averaged just three tackles per match this season, down from 3.6 last term.
