Liverpool predicted XI vs Norwich City: Caulker starts, Benteke benched

Posted by

After losing the derby against Manchester United last week, Liverpool got redemption against Exeter City in their FA Cup replay to put fans at ease. Unfortunately, despite getting significant playing time during the match against a lowly tier-4 team, star forward Christian Benteke failed to make any impact on the game and watched as the likes of Sheyi Ojo and Joao Teixeira scored goals.

For Liverpool to have even a chance at recovering ground and making a push for a final-five finish, they need to figure out who else can score goals from the forward position.

As a result, we can probably expect to see Christian Benteke on the bench – at least for a little bit – against Norwich City in an absolute must-win for the Reds.

Here is our Liverpool predicted XI vs Norwich City:

GK Simon Mignolet

The cries for Mignolet’s benching keep getting louder, but with no suitable alternative yet Klopp will keep him on the pitch.

DF Steven Caulker

With several starting defenders injured, Caulker makes his first start for Liverpool in the Premier League.

DF Nathaniel Clyne

Clyne has started every BPL match for Liverpool this season.

DF Alberto Moreno

Moreno stays put for the away fixture.

DF Mamadou Sakho

Sakho is playing a little bit below expectations, but he should be fine against Norwich.

MF Emre Can

The German midfielder is still waiting for his first goal of the season – maybe he’ll get it against the Canaries.

MF Lucas Leiva

Liverpool’s healthiest defensive midfielder, Lucas will have a big role to play.

MF Jordan Henderson

Of all the midfielders Jurgen Klopp needs to step up, Henderson is probably No. 1. His two-goal performance against West Brom feels like a distant memory.

MF Jordon Ibe

The last time Ibe got the start in an away match for Liverpool, he scored the lone goal and was Man of the Match. Can he do it again?

MF James Milner

Milner had an assist against Arsenal and played 90 minutes against Man United.

FW Roberto Firmino

With Coutinho out and Benteke struggling, Jurgen Klopp puts in Firmino to try and get a spark.
