Man City predicted XI vs West Ham United: Big chance to reclaim first-place

Posted by

West Ham United dealt Manchester City their first loss of the season back in September, but now the Citizens have a chance to get revenge.

Man City have not won two BPL matches in a row since October, but the last time they did they claimed sole possession of first place in the league. Should they overcome the Hammers this time, they’ll be in an excellent position to reclaim the top spot again should Arsenal and/or Leicester City falter at all this weekend.

But with Vincent Kompany still out for the foreseeable future, consistency on defence has been very hard to come by. With luck, the offense will be able to make up for any struggles at the back end.

Here is the Man City predicted XI vs West Ham United:

GK Joe Hart

Hart has allowed one goal in the last four matches, but two of them came in scoreless draws.

DF Bacary Sagna

Sagna has only missed 180 minutes of football this season and had an assist against Watford earlier this month.

DF Nicolas Otamendi

Man City are still waiting for Otamendi to justify the massive sum they paid for him – he’s been very average.

DF Gael Clichy

With Clichy on the field the Citizens have allowed seven goals in eight appearances.

DF Eliaquim Mangala

Back from an injury, Mangala will have his hands full with a high-scoring West Ham unit.

MF David Silva

Everyone is still waiting with baited breath for the pre-injury David Silva to make his triumphant return. A goal and an assist in a blowout against Crystal Palace isn’t enough.

MF Fabian Delph

Delph will probably get the start, but it’s doubtful he’ll play the full 90 minutes, even if he has done it twice in a row now.

MF Kevin De Bruyne

De Bruyne is an absolute stud and could very well be a candidate for BPL Player of the Year.

MF Raheem Sterling

Sterling has been very quiet ever since he debuted his new hairstyle.

MF Yaya Toure

Toure still brings consistency on the pitch.

FW Sergio Aguero

Aguero had two goals and an assist versus Crystal Palace last week to give him his ninth straight season with 10+ league goals.
