On a day filled with thrilling games (sans Manchester United), Man City vs West Ham United could very well take the cake as Match of the Day.
It only took 55 seconds for the scoring frenzy to begin at Boleyn Ground as the high-octane West Ham United team charged out in front to blow past the Manchester City defenders and score off the foot of Enner Valencia.
But the equally high-scoring Citizens would not stay behind long as Sergio Aguero drew a penalty kick and – as almost everyone on Earth expected – easily put the ball through as West Ham GK Adrian went in the other direction.
The two clubs continued to exchange shots for the better part of the first half as tackles, injuries and yellow cards started falling down like snow in the United States.
It certainly has the feeling of an exciting game – even if it isn’t the high-scoring instant classic of Liverpool vs Norwich City or the highlight-filled afternoons of Leicester City or Tottenham Hotspur.
