Fourth place Derby will be out to keep pressure on those above them when they take on 5th place Burnley later this evening, with both sides poised to make a genuine bid for promotion to the Premier League.
The Rams are currently on 49 points, 7 behind leaders Hull but with a game in hand. Paul Clements side have hit a poor run of form at the wrong time.
The club have drawn 2 and lost 2 of their last four outings and with their rivals gathering momentum they need to find their form again to maintain their challenge.
Last time out they went down 3-0 to Birmingham, the second successive defeat, following a 2-0 loss to Middlesbrough, they had failed to score.
The run of form could see some changes with Jacob Butterfield, Chris Baird and Ryan Shotton hoping to come in while Chris Martin could also be recalled ahead of Nick Blackman.
Blackman has yet to open his account in 2 games since his arrival from Reading, although the 11 goal striker has the most shots in the Championship this season with 74.
While the pressure may be getting to the players, Clement is relishing the challenge and wants his players to show they are ready for it.
“We are all together in this and the next game cannot come quick enough,” he said.
“I think everyone here wants the same thing.
“On a game-to-game basis we want to play well and perform well and the overall objective is to get promoted from this league.
“That hasn’t changed.
“We are still in a good position and these are the kind of pressures you have to deal with at a club like this.
“There has been a lot of investment, we have a good squad of players and during this period we have to all show that we can handle these kind of pressures.”
Burnley meanwhile will be without Lukas Jutkiewicz and Ashley Barnes as they chase a fourth win in five games. The Clarets are just a place and a point below the Rams and could overtake them with a win, so three points for either side tonight could make a significant difference in the promotion places come May.
There’s certainly everything up for grabs tonight, don’t miss out on any of the action.
