Chelsea injury news: Diego Costa in question for FA Cup clash

Posted by

Diego Costa has more than doubled his scoring output since Jose Mourinho was fired, recording six goals and two assists in his last two matches for the Blues. But now it seems that a knee issue for Diego Costa has Chelsea manager Guus Hiddink concerned about his availability versus MK Dons in the FA Cup.

Costa injured his knee against Arsenal after scoring the lone goal in the first half of the match. According to the Metro, Hiddink said the injury did not seem ‘very very serious’ but could not guarantee that Costa would start or participate in Chelsea’s match against MK Dons in the Fourth Round Proper of the tournament.

‘We’ll see, we’ll make some scans but I don’t think it’s very very serious,’ Hiddink said.

Prior to Mourinho’s dismissal, Costa had just four goals and an assist from 20 appearances. Since Hiddink took over, however, Costa has more than doubled his goal total as the team has gone undefeated since late December.

Last season, Chelsea were eliminated from the FA Cup in the Fourth Round Proper by Bradford City.
