Liverpool transfer news: EPL side distance themselves from transfer of high-profile attacker

According to local reports, West Bromwich Albion are not targeting a move for Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli.

Midlands paper the Express and Star insist that insiders at the Hawthorns have revealed that the Albion are not looking to move for the controversial hitman, who’s currently on a season-long loan at AC Milan.

The attacker, who won the Premier League during his time with Manchester City—providing the assist for Sergio Aguero’s title-winning goal against Queens Park Rangers—was recruited by Liverpool during the summer of 2014.

While it may have been hoped that the forward could have filled the void left by Luis Suarez’s exit to Barcelona, Balotelli wholly failed to ignite at Liverpool. Indeed, he managed only one goal in 16 EPL outings during his single season with the Reds, and was duly packed off to Lombardy on loan during the summer.

Struggling with injury, Balotelli has fared little better in Milan, managing just one goal in six Serie A showings this season, of which only two have been starts.
