There is a real fight on for places in the Tottenham Hotspur midfield, and Mousa Dembele and Nabil Bentaleb took this friendly competition onto the training pitch.
The pair took part in a ‘resistance race’ at Tottenham’s training camp in Barcelona, and it was neck and neck right until the finish line, as you can see in the below video!
We reckon it would need a photo finish to show that Bentaleb was the narrow victor, but Dembele currently has the edge when it comes to first-team selection.
The Belgian has been in outstanding form this season, scoring three goals in 18 games to help Spurs to fourth in the Premier League table and into title contention.
Meanwhile, 20-year-old Bentaleb has had a frustrating campaign with injury and has had to watch Eric Dier, Ryan Mason, Tom Carroll and Dele Alli play in his place.
The Algerian could now get a chance to play alongside Dembele because the ligament damage suffered by Jan Vertonghen might see Dier drop back into a defensive position.
