Chelsea to demand world record pushing £80m fee for Eden Hazard as Real Madrid close in

Chelsea will reportedly demand an £80million fee for playmaker Eden Hazard before they even consider letting him leave for Spanish giants Real Madrid, according to The Sun.

The Belgian international is yet to rediscover his best form and bounce back from a lacklustre first half of the campaign, and the club are desperate to see him at his best once again.

However, they are reluctantly prepared to let the winger move on at the end of the season, and even if he doesn’t rediscover his best form it will take an offer of around £80million to prize him away.

Hazard still hasn’t found the net this term, and has struggled with injuries for the past two months, but manager Guus Hiddink still believes he has time to make an impact as they plot a final assault on both the FA Cup and the Champions League.

The club know that he may still want to move on at the end of the season, and are prepared to let him go providing they receive a near world record fee.

But this is entirely dependent on Real’s appeal over a 12-month transfer ban being successful.
