Chelsea in hunt for 24-yr-old Real Madrid defender

Considering they have allowed nearly 1.5 goals per game, it’s safe to assume Chelsea could use another solid defender to help the struggling backs. One option that the Blues seem to be chasing now is Real Madrid ace Dani Carvajal, who is drawing attention from a variety of top clubs in Europe.

According to the Metro, Chelsea are looking to make a move for the Spanish defender next summer even though Carvajal is still under contract with the La Liga giants. Carvajal is reportedly upset with his current number of minutes.

Per the source, Chelsea would have to contend with Bayern Munich to land the Real Madrid back, while Liverpool and Manchester United have both expressed interest in him as well.

Carvajal has never played in fewer than 30 league matches in a season but has only appeared in 11 midway through the La Liga season this year. He was named to the UEFA Champions League Team of the Season in the 2013-14 season when Real Madrid won the tournament.
