In the wake of the recent reports that Gary Cahill is seeking a way off of Chelsea’s bench to ensure his spot in Euro 2016, oddsmakers at Ladbrokes are offering the best odds of landing him to one of the Blues’ most bitter rivals: Liverpool.
According to the Metro, Ladbrokes offering odds of 7/2 for Liverpool to secure a transfer for the 30-year-old Chelsea back. The site also gave 7/1 odds to Man United and Everton for Cahill to sign.
Cahill saw his minutes diminish this season under Jose Mourinho but saw very little change to that situation after Mourinho was fired in December and replaced by Guus Hiddink.
The news that Chelsea have secured a bid for New York Red Bulls defender Matt Miazga – who just so happens to play Cahill’s same centre-back position for the MLS side and is ten years younger than the England veteran – is not likely to help Cahill’s chances of regaining the minutes he’s losing this year.
Last season Gary Cahill made a career-high 48 appearances in all competitions for Chelsea en route to Premier League and League Cup titles.
