Ronaldinho reckons Liverpool playmaker is in the same class as Arsenal attacker & Andres Iniesta

Ronaldinho has admitted that he has no doubts that Roberto Firmino will prove to be a fine addition for Liverpool, and has also suggested that the playmaker ought to be considered in the same class as some of the greats of the game.

Indeed, speaking to the Mirror, the Brazilian legend has insisted that Firmino belongs alongside the likes of Arsenal’s Mesut Ozil, David Silva of Manchester City and Andres Iniesta of Barcelona.

“I didn’t ever question if he would be a great player for Liverpool, I knew that he would be,” Ronaldinho began, as reported by the tabloid.

“He’s one of the best at what he does in the world. He’s in the same class as Ozil, Silva, Iniesta, and all the other great players who play that role.”

24-year-old Firmino may have shone against Stoke City in midweek as Jurgen Klopp’s Reds saw off Mark Hughes’s side to reach the Capital One Cup final, but he has taken his time to settle into life in the Premier League.

Indeed, despite arriving for a hefty fee of a round £29 million [according to BBC Sport], the attacker hasn’t always been first choice at Anfield, starting 14 of Liverpool’s 23 league games so far this season.

However, he has steadily begun to make more and more of an impact and, to date, has bagged five goals and contributed four assists in the league so far.

Indeed, in recent weeks, Firmino has steadily begun to assert himself as one of the team’s stars; he scored a brace and contributed an assist as Liverpool came from behind in their dramatic 5-4 victory over Norwich City, while he also bagged a double in the 3-3 draw with Arsenal.
