Confirmation received that Real Madrid plotting transfer raid for Man United star; £6.5m bonus to be offered

According to reports, Real Madrid have confirmed that they are planning to return for Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea during the summer.

According to the Mirror—citing the Sunday People—super agent Jorge Mendes, De Gea’s representative, has confirmed that the Spanish heavyweights will again look to move for the stopper during the summer.

The tabloid note that Los Merengues are expected to make a bid of £23 million to United for their No. 1 stopper, while also offering De Gea an eye-watering £6.5 million signing-on fee, with the Mirror suggesting that the generous figure would be something of an ‘apology’ for the giants’ failed attempts to recruit the keeper last summer.

De Gea began the season out of the United first team, with Sergio Romero deputising. However, he has since re-established himself as the Red Devils’ No. 1 and has returned to his finest form in recent weeks and months, despite United’s troubles.

The 25-year-old remains one of the world’s finest goalkeepers, and was particularly outstanding in the recent 1-0 victory over Liverpool, the 0-0 draw with Chelsea in December, and in stalemates with PSV Eindhoven and West Ham United earlier in 2015.
