Valencia fell to their first home loss of the season as Antonio Sanabria secured all three points for Sporting Gijon at the Mestalla on Sunday afternoon in a 1-0 win.
Gary Neville was hoping to end a seven-game winless streak in La Liga, as his side continue to slip down the standings and towards the wrong end of the table.
Despite dominating the game for large periods and producing numerous goalscoring opportunities, the Spanish giants were unable to find a breakthrough.
Meanwhile, the visitors took full advantage of one of their rare chances of the game as Sanabria made no mistake from the penalty spot to secure a real smash and grab victory.
However, the hosts will certainly have themselves to blame and Neville can only hope their luck changes sooner rather than later, with Alvaro Negredo missing this guilt-edge chance to equalise in the closing stages.
Despite continuing to push forward in search of a much-needed goal, Valencia were unable to find one which in turn led to an angry response from the supporters in attendance as frustration continues to grow for Neville and his players as they continue to try and find a victory in the league.
